A shopping center of massive proportions, the Macarthur Square is situated in Campbelltown, New South Wales, Australia. The square is situated on the southern part of Campbell town. The shopping center is owned by the Lend Lease Corporation and the GPT. The square is situated just a stones throw away from the MacArthur railway station.

You can access train services extending to East Hills Lane and the Airport from here. The shopping mall was revamped as well as expanded in the year 2005, and the project cost close to a hundred and sixty mn Australian Dollars. The shopping center expanded from twenty nine thousand sq m to ninety thousand sq m. This has made it among the largest shopping malls in the city.

The Macarthur Square houses the David Jones Store in three floors located at the heart of the mall. There are big name stores such as Borders Books, Woolworrths, Coles, HOmeart, Big W and Target. The center also houses the ‘Kellicar Lane’ which is an outdoor entertainment and dining location famous with people. The Floor above Borders has a sizeable food court as well. The food court has glass walls that offer some excellent views of Cambelltown and the countryside beyond. This area was part of the expansion project.

MacArthur square opened in nineteen seventy nine. The then Minister for Planning and Envirnment, Honorary Paul Landa, played a leading role in the shopping center being built. The center was seen as an important factor for the development of the MacArthur Growth Center in the south west region of Sydney. Huge tracts of land were bought in the Campbelltown area by the North South Wales State Planning Authority during the nineteen sixties. A plan for the structure was bought out in nineteen seventy three.

The Common wealth and the state funded the region and this led to the establishment of a growth center in the area. There was an agreement reached with Canberra’s Whitlam Labor Government and the NSW’s Liberal Government. The agreement made sure that funds were available for land acquisition and urban development. There was a subsequent development board set up, which purchased and sold land, as well as created estates for industry at Macarthur Square.

Macarthur Square is being continuously worked on so as to make sure that the impact it causes on the environment is minimal. Care has been taken that center remains sustainable. There is a 250 000 l water tank beneath the surface that harvests rainwater for toilet systems and irrigation.

The greater parts of these people were gathers as well as hunters.

I hope that few of your questions regarding the history of Australia have been by now cleared.

Who the heck is Bruno Torf? Probably people who don’t know much, or even a bit about art, will definitely ask this question at least once in his life because one is sure to come across this name today, tomorrow, or later.

If you are among the people asking this question today, Bruno Torf is a renowned artist born in South America and later moved to the continent of Australia in search of transforming his dream into reality.

What dream? Read on.

He wanted to own a garden full of trees and sculptures made by him. And a garden in Marysville seemed to be an ideal location for his dream to produce real sculptures. He bought the small settlement of Marysville, 95km away from Melbourne, which included a not-so-small alpine forest. He worked unbreakably for five months and opened his dream garden known as Bruno Art and Sculpture Garden.

The garden had 200 artifacts including sketches, frescos, and mini sculptures from all parts of Europe. Along with these works of art, it had 15 very huge sculptures that were worth watching. He had developed a world gorgeousness and living imagination. The garden was the results of accumulation of art objects from few of the world’s most captivating ad isolated places.

However, this amazing garden along with most the sculptures, sketches, and frescos were decimated by a forest inferno accidentally blazed on 7th Feb, 2009. The fire spread to the neighboring township and took lives of many courteous people of Marysville. Thankfully, Bruno and his family survived in Australia.

More than 40% of the sculptures were fully damaged and became worthless & unidentifiable. However, no fire is too strong to smolder the spirit of Bruno Torf. He chose to stay back in Marysville and planned to reconstruct his home and garden of sculpture.

He needed several plans and permissions from the government to rebuild his own garden, which took enough time. However, in the background, he continued with cleaning up, re-flourishing the garden, and collecting more artifacts. However, most of his time was utilized in cleaning up the garden. This wasn’t an easy task as the left over untidiness was quite dreadful. He threw hundreds of tons of debris with the cooperation of his friends, relatives, and family. And he started replanting the forest. Now it’s a garden that looks untouched.

Achieving success though hard work, he re-opened the garden on 29th November 2009. Now, it’s one-of-it’s-kind again, and obvious the most gorgeous garden ever.

Magnificent 360 degree view of the city from skywalk on the Sydney Tower

‘On a clear day you can see forever…’ sounds much better once you visit the Sydney’s tallest structure. On a clear day, you can see beautiful and magnificent views of Sydney, that will last in your memory, forever! It rises three hundred and five meters from the heart of Sydney Central Business district, which is cannot be overlooked by a passer by. It is known as AMP tower aka Centrepoint aka Sydney tower but people are sure about the tower being the second tallest tower of Australia and Sydney’s landmark. The views of Sydney that are been seen are just stunning and amazing, which is attracting many tourists from all over the world.

The main attraction of the tower is the height it reaches! The tower being the tallest tower in Sydney offers three sixty-degree view of the city. You can check it out staying inside the observing deck, watch the whole view from glass windows, and for some real thrill go up in open rooftop on a skywalk trail. You won’t stop doing Ahhh’d and Oooo’d on this open-air stroll. The whole walk around the tower is of forty-five minutes, organized with commentary about the view by a guide, is very impressive. You not only climb a ladder and come out in open but you are tucked into bright blue and gold, skysuit that fits properly on your existing clothes. And ladies, don’t think they will let you wear heels, they even provide shoes, flat heeled to roam comfortably around the roof.

Been there if thought of jumping down crosses your mind, don’t worry you will forget about it once you step on the unbreakable glass flooring which is hanged to tower with the help of cables. Standing on that glass floor will just freak you out when you will see the street down below your feet. Warning, this should not be tried by faint-hearted! LOL!

The view is exceptionally beautiful. The guide will help showing some interesting streets or architectural buildings, like the Domain, Botanic Gardens, the Cricket Ground, Football Stadium, Mascot Airport with planes coming and going out in all directions like busy-bees… Even the train and cars at such height and distance, look like toys, set through the city and suburbs.

Another thing store for us there is OzTrek. It’s also a unique attraction where family can have fun together. It’s a ride in theater with sound and 3D effect through whole Australian tour. The ride is very exciting as the chair move along with the scene to make it feel more real. This wonderful trip will complete your Australian experience. OzTrek is to be found on the Podium Level and takes approximately 30 minutes.

Except for this, there are also revolving restaurants, one à la carte and one buffet. The buffet has around two hundred and twenty seats and has international costumes to dine and wine here. You can enjoy the meal with delightful views of the city.

Its difficult to compare Sydney Tower with something else as Sydney Tower is of same height as Eiffel Tower, it’s six times higher than Niagara Falls, twice the height of Egypt’s Great Pyramid, four times higher than Opera House and double height of Harbor Bridge.

Darkness falls and another side of Port Arthur is revealed!

Many colonial prisons have changed into tourists’ attraction and town has emerged, around the prisons. Few prisons that were known for its maximum security and stories related of massacre to suicides of prisoners are turned into historic sites. Just be a part of a lantern lit tour around the Port Arthur in Australia. The prison of Port Arthur is said to be haunted by the convicted prisoners who hanged themselves and some who were killed brutally. The whole place turns different after dark hours. The port is filled by mysteries and conspiracies that you need to discover by yourself. To know about this place you need to come here to believe it!

Port Arthur is situated on an attractive natural harbor situated on the Tasman Peninsula to the southeast island of Hobart. The prison is built on a peninsula surrounded by water which is thirty meters wide isthmus in eagle hawk neck shape that is connected to the mainland by the fence and guards. The landscape not only has historic sites but the scenic views of the place in stunning! Initially it was a prison for convicts ranging from juvenile to serial killers. Later when it was closed in 1880’s, the area was renamed as carnarvon and area around the prison was put on sale for residential use. The town has many killing and ghost haunted stories to tell! The famous among all stories of killing is the mass murder incident that happened in 1996 which challenged the law of Australia.

The prison of Port Arthur is known for its maximum security, which was convicts settlement and now open air museum! The night tours of this place is another attraction that is done in just lantern lit soft light, which will bring chills in your body! Except for the prison, just few miles away to the south of town are ‘Remarkable Cave’ that can be entered during low tides. You can take a ride in a small gauge steam train which is north to the Bush Mill. The ride in the train is short but it gives stunning views around the area. The port is a very interesting blend of ruined and well-preserved large structures that were made during eighteenth century and attractive grounds. Isle of the Dead Tour is another tour you should go to listen and see how many prisoners died and how they died. It’s a cemetery of such prisoners who died in the jail.

From the Hobart to Port Arthur it will only take one and half-hour to reach by road. The drive down the Tasman and Arthur Highways appears part of the Convict Trail Touring Route and takes in breathtaking seascapes, passing from side to side rolling farmlands and little villages, past vineyards, artists’ studios and sweeping bays. While coming here you will travel in different time as the port has maintained its countryside look. A regular bus service run by Tassie Link connects Hobart with Port Arthur.

By Sea:

The MV Marina offers a ferry service from Hobart to Port Arthur. The service offers a full range of facilities including food and beverage service.

The nearest airport is Hobart International Airport which from Melbourne to Hobart airport it takes one hour.

Here you will get plenty of hotels, villas and lodges offering you best quality of services. While your stay here you can explore other things as horse rides in near by forest or you can relax in garden or explore numerous bush walks. You will find ranges of accommodation from luxurious to economical.

The Royal Botanic Gardens, located in Sydney Australia is a wonderful place to visit. This park provides free access to visitors and is open 365 days a year.

Location and area

The Gardens are situated east of the Sydney Opera House, Circular Quay and Macquarie Street. The Gardens are bordered with the Cahill Expressway on the south and Art Gallery road on the east. One can overlook the Farm Cove and the entire garden is 30 hectares in area.

History

Governor Phillip established the first farm on the Australian continent in 1788 at Farm Cove. This farm was named ‘nine acres in corn’. Set up on relatively infertile soils, the farm failed, however, the management found techniques to make the soils more productive and as a result the land is in constant cultivation since that time.

The Royal Botanic Gardens were set up on this site by Governor Macquarie in 1816. The Botanic Gardens ranks as the oldest scientific institution in Australia. Ever since its inception, these Gardens have played a major role in the acclimatization of plants from other regions.

In the early years, the Gardens were headed by colonial botanist and superintendents, which included the Cunningham brothers (Richard and Allan). In 1847, John Carne Bidwill was appointed the first Director. Charles Moore succeeded him the following year. The credit for the Gardens being what it is today should go to Moore. During his tenure spanning 48 years (1848-96), he worked hard to develop the site. He successfully tackled the problems of poor soil, water shortages and paucity of funds. The Palm Grove, located in the heart of the Gardens is a reflection of his skill and foresight as is the case of the reclaimed land behind the Farm Cove seawall.

In 1862, the Gardens became the home to Sydney’s first zoo. This zoo remained in the Gardens till 1883, after which most of the zoo was transferred to Moore Park. During this period, most of the remnant natural vegetation of the surrounding domains was removed and planted as parkland. The Moreton Bay Figs, considered a major of this planting continues to dominate the landscape.

In 1879, a large area on the south of the Government House stables (now the Conservatorium of Music), was taken to make way for the Garden Exhibition Palace. This structure was described as ‘an outstanding example of Victorian architectural exuberance, with towers and turrets deployed around a giant dome 100 feet (30 m) in diameter surmounted by a lantern 200 feet (61 m) above the ground’. This structure covered over two hectares and dominated Sydney’s skyline. The International Exhibition held in the Palace attracted more than a million visitors. Sadly, tragedy struck, when the building was destroyed by fire in 1882. The land, now known as the Palace Garden was added to the Botanic Gardens.

At the fag end of his tenure as Director, Moore along with Ernst Betche, published the Handbook of the Flora of New South Wales. This step cemented the place of the Gardens as a centre for the science of botany.

Joseph Henry Maiden succeeded Moore as Director. During his 28-year term, he bought in various new developments to the Gardens. He constructed a new herbarium building, which opened in 1901 (today part of Anderson Building) and bought about major improvements to the Domain.

A bad phase followed for the Gardens. During the First World War, the Gardens suffered staff losses and later during the depression of the 1930s, the position of Director was lost. The Herbarium and the living collections languished. From 1945, Robert Anderson, worked to reunify the two and in 1959, the title ‘Royal’ was granted. Under the leadership of Knowles Mair (1965–70) reunification was achieved and the Royal Botanic Gardens slowly clawed back to it past glory.

Over the next two decades, Dr John Beard (1970-72) and Dr Lawrence Johnson (1972-85) played a major role in developing the organization and the Robert Brown Building was opened in 1982, which housed the Herbarium. The breadth of activities increased with the formation of the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens; educational and ecological programs; the Flora of New South Wales; the scientific journals Telopea and Cunninghamia and programs of computerized documentation of both the living and herbarium collections.

Professor Carrick Chambers took over as the ninth Director in 1986. Chambers 10-year stint at the top saw a series of inaugurations for the public. The Mount Tomah Botanic Garden (1987), Mount Annan Botanic Garden (1988) and the Tropical Centre (1990) glasshouses were thrown open to the public. Also during his tenure, the Rose Garden (1988), the Fernery (1993), the Herb Garden (1994), and the Oriental Garden (1997) were opened and the Rare and Threatened Species Garden (1998) was commenced to further enrich the experience of visitors. The Royal Botanic Gardens Foundation was established to seek a wider range of support for future needs.

The year 2003 saw the business name of the organization change to the Botanic Gardens Trust. Currently, Dr Tim Entwisle is the Executive Director.

Imagine you live in a very beautiful home, which is featured in number of interior home décor magazines, and your home is publicized, people give acclamations to it, and it get famous. Feels good, you liked it?

Now just imagine those people without your permission keep trespassing your property. And even when you actually say them no, then to they come to stroll and admire the beauty; appreciate it and liking it more. Even the authorities don’t help you? Now does it feel good? Do u still like it?

If you can show respect to your home, and don’t like intruders coming in then why not to the beliefs of aboriginals of Australia who have a belief of this place being sacred.

Let me tell you from begin…

Uluru, second largest single rock in the world, a striking rock monolith, which rises spectacularly from the desert plain also known as Ayers Rock, though with its Aboriginal name Uluru it is more famous and popular tourist attractions.

Uluru is 348 meters high, somewhat 3.6 km long and 1.9 km wide and 9.4 km around.

Considered as great wonders of the world. Australia’s natural icon.

Located on major planetary grid.

Explorer Ernest Giles remarked it as “the remarkable pebble”.

Uluru is an inselberg, literally “island mountain”

Uluru changes the color depending on the time of day and what are the atmospheric conditions, as the rock can dramatically change its color which can be anything from blue to violet to glowing red. There are many avid and passionate photographers who set up for days and to record the many changing colors of Uluru.

Uluru or Ayers Rock is regarded as one of the iconic places to visit in Australia, for its allure is such a force to people, to see this rock in flat desert, with its red walls it is significant landmark in the desert landscape in the vast Australia continent. But this trek is not for some weak heart person, you should be absolutely physically fit, to encounter this place for you hike and trek. It is like a challenge to lot of people coz trekking here is not so easy; it’s tough, more adventurous and stimulating. It gets strenuous for the climbers, as it is windy and the trek is steep too. Its desert, don’t forget it! The temperature soar high, it’s hot and arid. Be prepared with plenty of water, proper and very good hiking shoes that are meant for this terrain and lots of sunscreen. This place has even seen fatalities and death due heart attack and sun stroke. To make this climb easy, a chain handhold has been added and also has been extended making some half a mile of the climb easy and accessible but still it’s difficult to reach its summit, hike on to its top.

The twist in tale:

The Aborigines have a belief that there is a hollow below ground, and which they say is an energy source which they call it as ‘Tjukurpa’ or the dream time. Coz of this the local Tjukurpa and Anangu people belief this place to be sacred and therefore they don’t climb it, and also ask others not to climb as according to the, Uluru has great spiritual significance. Especially they ask not to climb because their climbing path crosses a sacred “Dreamtime” track, which can only be trekked for ritualistic purpose and no other. It’s the ethical concern of this aboriginals that we should consider, as to this place is of uttermost importance to them. The local people over there also request the tourist not to climb and respect these people’s religious believes. It causes them stress and distress when people climb their dreamtrek. They have put a sign post that request people not to climb it for their religious sake, still people climb it each year, after year. They are not able to stop people or prohibit them from climbing, also the government authorities are not supporting them as this trek attract many tourists to this place and also foreigners who love to see the beauty of Uluru.

The question is asked again? Even though your home is beautiful and best architecture and best of best home décor will you allow strangers get in for the view?

Its time we give this minority aboriginals some respect to their beliefs on which there whole survival depends. We are humans and we should show some humanity by giving them regards by not climbing their sacred place.

Though agreed that it orthodox and superstitious belief that we modern people don’t follow and we should eradicate it, but guys, its there life this people believe it and its time we show them we respect and care.
