Darwin: Perfectly Designed Tourist Place

Darwin is the place where you would get all the things to see and do, which you look for while planning a vacation. The place has everything from nature expressing itself at its best to monuments leading you to the insights of history. The place has seen its share of devastation once because of Japanese air raids when World War 2 happened and secondly when the Cyclone Tracy attacked the city in the year 1974. The interesting thing about Darwin is that in spite of facing man made as well natural calamities the city has grown to a promising destination and is now counted among Australia’s most developed cities and a great multicultural region.

Where it is located:

Darwin is chief city in Northern Territory of Australia. It is located at the end of the peninsula, Darwin Bay, Fannie Bay and Frances are its three sides.

  • Cycling tours:
    the city has lot of cycling tracks and this provides the tourists with an opportunity to gather knowledge about Darwin’s fabulous structures and landmarks.
  • Beaches:
    Mindil Beach, Vestey’s Beach and Mando Beach are famous beaches where you can chill out but be careful of jellfish the stinging box from October to May. Crocodiles are also caught in these places.

  • Indo-Pacific Marine Exhibition:
    it is an interesting exhibition where marine life and organisms are displayed.
  • World War 2 storage Tunnels:
    you must see these, the tanks above the ground were destroyed after Japanese air raids and then underground tanks were built.
  • Botanical Gardens:
    you would relish the moments you would spend as it is the place where you would get amazing view of flora and fauna.

  • Crocodile farm:
    you can find more than 8000 freshwater and sea crocodiles here. You must not miss this, watching so many crocodiles together is real fun. Steve Irvin must have loved this place that’s for sure.

  • National Parks:
    there are many national parks where you can go and fulfill your wish to see wildlife in its natural surrounding.

Events and Festivals:

There are lot of events and festivals in the Darwin and keep on happening all round the year. From exciting parades and carnivals to music and art festivals, there must be something happening in any part of the year so make sure that you don’t miss out anything on your visit to the city. Beer Can Regatta is an unique festival happening every year in the month of June, in this festivals boats fully carved out of beer cans compete.

How to reach:

There are numerous of travel options once you reach Darwin. Darwin Airport is not more than 13km away from the Darwin. You can hire car, bicycle or scooter, take taxi or can also bus to reach the place. The place is extremely well linked to other prominent places of Australia so it is never a problem to reach Darwin and ENJOY!!
