Sydney Opera House: 20th Century Architectural Marvel

The house was inaugurated in the year 1973. Its attractive design and wonderful construction speaks in volumes the magnificent brainwork put in making this house. Jorn Utzon a Danish architect is the man behind this unique this piece. It is estimated that an extra ordinary amount of $102 million was invested to build this structure.

The Sydney Opera House is positioned at Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, near the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is located at Sydney Central Business District’s north eastern tip.

• Concert hall- 2700 people can be seated and Sydney Symphony and other major artists perform here.

• Opera theatre- this theatre comes under the category of Proscenium theatre and 1500 people can seat here.

• Drama theatre- it has the capacity to seat 545 people and is generally used for dance and staging dramas.

• Playhouse- it is an end stage theatre and can accommodate 400 people.
• Studio- Depending on the need the space is optimized and utmost 400 people can be seated.
• Utzon room- this venue is used for various purposes, it is small and just enough to seat 210 people.
