Esteemed as the fifth largest city of Australia, Adelaide is venerated as the state capital of South Australia. Discovered in 1836, this prestigious coastal city was deliberately designated as organized capital for the only well-settled British terrain. Granted the eponym ‘Adelaide’ derived its name, after the respected Queen Adelaide, the better half of King William IV. Colonel William Light who is valued as one of the chief founders of Adelaide outlined the design of this coastal city. It was Light’s thought that he chose Adelaide’s position besides the tranquil River Torrens, a location that was initially colonized by Kaurna tribes i.e. native Australians.

The well-planned vision of contemporary Adelaide brought out a spectacular city in a framework layout, which was imbibed with extensive avenues and vast public squares. The design of this province is pleasing to eyes as well as the senses as it is encompassed by marvelous parklands. These magnificent sketches of the coastal city can be conspicuously attributed to the early religious liberty and robust determination to flourishing politics and civic freedom. The strong illustration developed in mind for erecting the splendid city of Adelaide later gave a way to world’s first reforms.

Snuggling cozily in the Eastern banks of Gulf St. Vincent, on the Adelaide Plains towards the North of Fleurieu Peninsula, it sits midst the low-lying Mount Lofty Ranges and Gulf St. Vincent. Although it stretches about nearly 20 kms from the coast to the foot of the hills, it runs a vast distance of 90 kms, from Gawler at its North to Selicks beach to the South. Deviating from geographical details to the region’s prominence, it is reputed to be South Australia’s Seat of Government. At present, Adelaide boasts as the hub of commercial center. Also, it is home to most of the financial and governmental organizations. These eminent sites are well-structured and placed beautifully by the side of North Terrace’s cultural avenues, King William Street and many other metropolis districts.

Come to the fabulous coastal city of Adelaide and experience Australian aboriginal culture. Adelaide grabs the limelight for its reveling celebrations, sport events, gourmets and traditional culture. This city is fortified with great defense and possesses many manufacturing sectors. Because of its booming popularity and craze, it has also been tracked in the Top 10 list of The Economist’s World’s Most Livable Cities. Give a hit to this awe-inspiring coastal province and you could get an enchanting opportunity of relishing in the lush parklands, fantastic fests and free public squares. Gape over the colonial stone architecture and exquisite museums of North Terrace.

Discover the libraries of North Terrace; have a fine dine on special streets devoted to food a.k.a. ‘Eat Streets’; or simply recline leisurely on the abundant verdant parklands, that cover about half of the city. Explore the city’s luxurious charms like Botanic Park by means of bike riding or take a relaxing walk in the rose gardens in Rymill Park. Go to Glenelg for exploring water adventures and coming up-close and personal with dolphins. Nature-lovers should move beyond the city centre where they can have a tryst with peaceful natural retreat over the scenic Adelaide Hills. The Barossa Valley is home to top-notch wineries, come here for fresh wine-tasting.
